Uyuni Salt Flats or Salt Lake of Uyuni (Salar de Uyuni) is the world’s largest salt flat at 10,582 km² (4,085 sq mi), almost 5 times bigger than Tokyo and 102 times the size the Bonneville Salt Flats (not far from Salt Lake City) in the United States at 104 km² (40 sq mi).

Day 1. 19:30 or 20:30

Touristic bus to Uyuni, for about 10 hours, 100% pavement road, arrive next morning to UYUNI. Dinner on board. (Buses have comfortable reclining seats, TV, restroom, ground stewardess, heat). (D)

Day 2. 07:30

Arrival in Uyuni, reception at the bus terminal and local transfer to a restaurant for an extra breakfast (own passengers expenses). 09:00 (approx.) pick up passengers (4×4 vehicle) in order to visit the Great Salt Lake of Uyuni the biggest salt extension in the world. On the way we visit the train Cemetery and Colchani, a small village near the Salar that process salt for a living; we continue towards the Incahuasi Island, this singular island is famous for its gigantic cactus, here we enjoy lunch and return to Uyuni the same way. Free time to have a little rest and night bus back to La Paz on the same bus. (B,L,D)
